The Board of Trustees announces the following important changes to the Teamsters Local 631 Security Fund for Southern Nevada plan, Effective April 1, 2003

Updated COBRA Rates

As one way of attempting to keep pace with rising costs of healthcare benefits, the Board of Trustees will be increasing the rates for COBRA continuation coverage effective April 1, 2003. The new rates are based on the actual average cost of healthcare benefits for active participants in the Fund. However, in order to minimize hardship for members who may only need coverage for a few months, the Board of Trustees has agreed that the Fund will partially subsidize the COBRA rates for the first 6 months of coverage. The following table contains the current and updated rates:

New Formulary List from Express Scripts

Enclosed is the 2003 Prescription Drug Formulary List from Express Scripts. You will pay a $5 co-payment for drugs on the list and all generic drugs, but a $20 co-payment for brand-name drugs that are not on the list. Therefore, bring the enclosed list of formulary drugs with you when you see your doctor. Your doctor can then choose from the list when selecting a medication for you. If you are currently taking a medication that is not on the list, it may be possible for your doctor to prescribe an appropriate alternative from the list. This may involve only a phone call to your physician's office, or to your pharmacist, who can call on your behalf.

Retiree Document
